Foreign nationals aspiring to become immigrants in Ukraine must complete various documentation procedures, essential for gaining entry into the country.
The initial step involves determining if the foreign national’s country holds a visa-free agreement with Ukraine. Those eligible for visa-free travel can stay in Ukraine for a maximum of 90 days, with extensions permissible under exceptional circumstances such as medical treatment, natural disasters, inheritance proceedings, or citizenship acquisition.
For countries without a visa-free arrangement, obtaining an invitation to Ukraine and subsequently applying for a visa becomes necessary.
Visa duration depends on its type, varying from 30 to 90 days.
Foreign nationals intending to stay in Ukraine beyond 90 days must secure a residence permit, available in temporary and permanent categories.
A temporary residence permit grants a foreigner a stay of up to 3 years, renewable upon expiration, contingent upon meeting specific criteria outlined on our residence permit page.
A permanent residence permit allows a foreigner to reside in Ukraine for up to 10 years, with the possibility of extension, subject to meeting eligibility criteria detailed on our permanent residence page.
